Michie appointed commissioner of insurance Utah
Governor of Utah M. Jon Huntsman, Jr. Kent D. Michie appointed as commissioner of insurance. Michie Merwin replace Commissioner Stewart.
Michie is a native of Utah and studied at Salt Lake City schools. He has 35 years experience in Utah and in the investment banking industry, serving the last sixteen years as Vice President of Public Finance Bank of Zion.
Michie, the state financial advisors since 1984. He has the creative concept for the development of the Utah School Bond Guaranty Program under which the State AAA guarantee on the bond of Utah’s 40 districts of Utah owned by the school to save millions of dollars taxpayers. Michie also served a four-year term as a member of Salt Lake City Board of Education.
Michie has served 20 years in the Utah National Guard. He is currently as Executive Vice President of the Wasatch Front Economic Forum.
